The Alternative Paisa is for travelers who want to feel how Medellín is lived, not just see it. In about 3 hours you ride the real neighborhoods — Laureles, Belén, Conquistadores — and climb Cerro Nutíbara to reach Pueblito Paisa, the replica of a traditional Antioquian town with the best view over the city. It's 100% private, with a gourmet lunch, and a favorite because it doesn't eat your whole day.

Why an e-bike

Climbing Cerro Nutíbara on foot is a long hill and by Uber you lose half the morning. The pedal-assisted bike — you barely pedal — takes you up effortlessly and links the hilltop with the neighborhoods in one smooth ride.

Why private

This tour lives on the conversations with your guide: paisa culture, barrio life, the food. Private means the pace and the stops are yours.

The route

We ride La 70, the Stadium, Laureles and Belén, pass the Andrés Escobar area, and climb Cerro Nutíbara for Pueblito Paisa and its lookout (free entry). We come down for lunch around Conquistadores and finish through Parques del Río, La Alpujarra and the Park of Lights.

What's included

  • Pedal-assisted e-bike and helmet
  • Private local guide
  • Gourmet "build your plate" lunch (starter + protein with vegan option + side or pasta + salad)
  • Complimentary drink (water, Coca-Cola, espresso coffee or slushie, subject to availability)
  • 100% private ride (just your group)
  • Departure from our office in Laureles–Estadio (Calle 44A #70-79)
  • Optional Museo de la Ciudad entry not included

Perfect for

Travelers who want the authentic Medellín — neighborhoods, a lookout and paisa culture — over the historic center.

Frequently asked questions

What makes it "alternative"?

It focuses on local, cultural Medellín — neighborhoods and Pueblito Paisa — instead of the historic center.

Is there an entrance fee for Pueblito Paisa?

No, entry is free for everyone. The only paid extra is the Museo de la Ciudad (at the top of Pueblito), which we don't include.

Is Cerro Nutíbara a hard climb?

The bike does the climbing for you. If the rider is over ~100 kg, they may need to help pedal a little on the steepest part.

Is lunch included?

Yes — a gourmet build-your-plate lunch (vegan option).

Does it go to the historic center?

No — that's the Urban Tour. Here the focus is Pueblito Paisa and the neighborhoods.

Urban or Alternative?

Urban = historic center + Botero. Alternative = Pueblito Paisa + barrio culture. Want both? The Panoramic combines them.
