Parques del Río: where Medellín met its river again

The riverside linear park with the giant MEDELLÍN letters and gardens where paisa families gather — on the way in all our tours.

For decades Medellín turned its back on its river; today Parques del Río is proof of the reconciliation: a modern linear park with native gardens, walking paths and the giant MEDELLÍN letters where everyone takes the photo. It is the favorite new public space of local families and the gateway to downtown. Our tours ride right through it — and the stop at the letters is mandatory.

What to see & do

  1. 1. The MEDELLÍN letters

The city giant sign: the photo everyone wants — and on our tours you take it with the e-bike in the frame.

  2. 2. The native gardens

Thousands of regional plants and trees along the river corridor: a free, linear botanical garden.

  3. 3. The local vibe

Families, skaters, cyclists and picnics: everyday Medellín having a good time.

  4. 4. The river and its bridges

The Medellín river corridor connects the west side with downtown: this is the gateway to the historic city.

  5. 5. La Alpujarra & the old railway station

A few pedal strokes away sit the government center and the historic train station — next stops on our routes.
